Al Ansar Hospital

Our approach to the design of the new Al Ansar hospital takes its lead from principles that balances simple stepped volumes and delicate geometric ornamentation with deeply rooted symbolism. Our design approach is also based on adding value to the urban neighborhood and broader community by creating a place that is equally welcoming to both Madinah residents and visiting Pilgrims, which in essence is about making a place for people. In addition to meeting the project’s functional needs, we believe that healthcare design must create positive emotional outcomes for patients and staff, invoking comfort, inclusion, a sense of safety, and hope as part of the holistic healing experience. One of the ways to achieve this is to focus on the patient and family experience and how they actively participate in care and healing. This translates into providing a supportive environment where delicate partnerships can be forged, and the patient and their families feel welcomed and comfortable.
